April Letter from Al Hartman

By | Letters from Al Hartman

Dear Hartman Team Members,

Thank you for all your hard work hitting our goals this past quarter. Every day, we are all working toward a common goal and pushing towards raising our occupancy. It is tremendous to see all the departments working together to achieve this; congratulations to all of you!

We are nicely ahead of budget at the end of the 1st quarter and with a very robust pipeline for April. Our leasing team ended April with 41 new leases and almost 77,000 square feet, totaling over 208,000 square feet in new leases so far in 2022. In March, Kacie Skeen was our top performer, with nearly 24,000 net square feet leased in her portfolio.

The jobs market is buoyant, and like many companies, we have our work cut out. I want to recognize our Recruiting Team, who are working to bring new team members to our company with high potential and who align with our core values and culture here. The team is actively recruiting for 17 open positions and pushing the envelope to keep potential team members engaged and excited about the opportunities here at Hartman. The development I have seen from this department in our recruiting procedures has raised the bar of new team members who have recently joined us. We encourage each of you to seek referrals from your own networks; remember, we have a bonus of up to $2,500 for eligible candidates that you refer. You can use our website to submit employee referrals.

I want to formally welcome our Vice President of Property Management, Kelly Agent. Kelly has quickly proven her knowledge of property management, REIT operations, and people management, all of which are tremendous assets to our team. She will be responsible for the entire Hartman portfolio in Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. Welcome, Kelly!

I hope you all were able to spend Easter with family and reflect on the importance of this holiday. The Easter holiday is the end of Holy Week, and each day of Holy Week has a significance that we can reflect on in our lives. On Easter Sunday, Jesus rose from his tomb, fulfilling the prophecy of His resurrection. Easter should be the most joyful day of the year for us, as this is the prophecy and the promise that God fulfilled that he died for our sins so that we would have eternal life. If you have any questions about eternal life, I encourage you to join our weekly bible studies, prayer calls, or reach out to one of our chaplains, your manager or me directly.

I want to close by reminding our team members of the benefits that we offer your families and children. Hartman offers church camp reimbursements and scholarship funds for private school, college, and other educational needs. Please be sure to utilize our subscription services to RightNow Media for family bible study content and other Christian-based content; it is truly an excellent resource. If you need more information about any of these benefits, please reach out to Ashley Griffin.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another.” – John 13:34

Sincerely,

Al Hartman
